What lies ahead …

You’re constantly being told different things by different people. You’re still trying to figure out exactly who you are. Yet, you’re expected to know exactly what it is you want to do in the future. And the question is how, with so little life experience, are you supposed to know what will make you happy for the rest of your life?

We’re at that stage in our lives where everything is changing and we’re beginning to gain new responsibilities. Our feelings can often take over and, a lot of the time, we can be left feeling confused and slightly overwhelmed.

So it’s natural to feel stressed when everything seems to get a little complicated. And it’s OK if you can’t yet outline your exact career path.

We have to put our faith in the knowledge that everything will work out, and everything will be just fine. Because think about just how much things have changed over the past five years. How your feelings, your ideas and your perspectives have all changed shape so easily and so quickly. And it’s inevitable that the same thing will happen over and over again.

So don’t be frightened or afraid of the future; be excited and accepting of the new adventures that you’re going to face. Letting fear and anxiety overshadow your capabilities and the opportunities you have won’t help. Instead, accept that things will continue to change, and your future can be exactly what you make it.

Living in the Moment

Life is all about living in the moment. It’s about taking every opportunity that’s given to you and grabbing them with both hands. Then never, ever letting them go. And what happens if those opportunities aren’t given to you so easily? Then you do something about it, and make sure that you get them yourself.

Because the only thing we can be sure of in this world is today. Yesterday is in the past and tomorrow belongs to the future. All we have is right now. So take advantage of the little things and live life to the full. Do the kind of things that you know you’ll remember and that create stories that you’ll want to tell. Make your own kind of adventure and don’t ever hold back on the things you do and the dreams you create. Because that’s what makes life so crazy, yet so worthwhile.

So, If you want something, go and get it. If something’s not quite right, change it.

Don’t live in fear of what will happen in the future, because we can’t waste today, by thinking about tomorrow. And don’t dwell on what has happened in the past, because that’s already gone and there’s nothing we can do to change it. Instead, we need to focus on what is happening right now, and truly live in the moment.
