You’re constantly being told different things by different people. You’re still trying to figure out exactly who you are. Yet, you’re expected to know exactly what it is you want to do in the future. And the question is how, with so little life experience, are you supposed to know what will make you happy for the rest of your life?
We’re at that stage in our lives where everything is changing and we’re beginning to gain new responsibilities. Our feelings can often take over and, a lot of the time, we can be left feeling confused and slightly overwhelmed.
So it’s natural to feel stressed when everything seems to get a little complicated. And it’s OK if you can’t yet outline your exact career path.
We have to put our faith in the knowledge that everything will work out, and everything will be just fine. Because think about just how much things have changed over the past five years. How your feelings, your ideas and your perspectives have all changed shape so easily and so quickly. And it’s inevitable that the same thing will happen over and over again.
So don’t be frightened or afraid of the future; be excited and accepting of the new adventures that you’re going to face. Letting fear and anxiety overshadow your capabilities and the opportunities you have won’t help. Instead, accept that things will continue to change, and your future can be exactly what you make it.
