Natural Makeup Look

I thought I would share my everyday natural makeup routine with you, to hopefully give you some tips or advice on any products I use, and how to achieve a more subtle makeup look ūüôā

Before I apply any makeup, I use the Garnier Micellar Water to cleanse my face and remove any impurities from my skin.

Using the Ecotools Eye Perfecting brush, place the Natural Collection concealer under the eyes and on any blemishes on the skin.

Blend the Rimmel Long Lasing foundation into the skin, with the Ecotools Skin Perfecting brush. Then place an additional layer of concealer under the eyes in the shade Light, to brighten up the eyes.

Set your foundation and concealer with the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder, using the Ecotools Mattifying finish brush. I use this powder in the shade 003 Peach Glow, as it adds a little colour and glow to the powder.

Apply the bronzer from the Collection Contour Kit with the Spectrum Collections D01 brush. Use this to sculpt your cheekbones, and to add colour and dimension to the forehead and jawline.

Using the same brush, place the Natural Collection Blusher in the shade Pink Cloud on the apples of your cheeks, to add a pretty pop of colour to your makeup look.

Then, one of my favourite steps,¬†to finish off your coverage, place the highlighter from the Collection Contour kit on the top of your cheekbones and in your T-Zone. To do this, I use the angled brush from Primark’s Ps… range.

Moving onto eyes, use the Barry M Natural Glow eyeshadow palette, place the lightest shade all of the eye as a base. Use the matte dusty pink shade in the outer corners of the eye and blend in using the Ecotools Full Eyeshadow Brush. Finally, for a touch of shimmer blend in the dusty pink shimmer shade to this base.

You can then use the Natural Collection eyeliner pencil in Black along your waterline. Pair this with the Collection felt eyeliner pen along the top of your eyeline, to subtly accentuate your eyes.

I then finish off my eyes by curling my eyelashes and applying the Model Co Black Mascara to the top and bottom lashes.

I then use the Natural Collection Brow Pencil in the shade Dark Brown to fill in my brows. After brushing out your natural eyebrows, lightly fill them in to give them a more defined shape. I like to keep them quite light and natural looking, but of course it’s down to personal preference.

To finish off my makeup look, I use the Soap and Glory Lipstick in the shade The Missing Pink, which is a lovely, nude shade. You can then use the Tanya Burr Champagne Toast Lipgloss alongside this, depending on how Natural you want to keep the look.

Forever the Dreamer

I’ve always been a Dreamer. Somebody with clear goals and defined aspirations. Because, to me, that’s one of the most important things to have in life. A clear idea of where you want to go and who you want to become.

And, of course, it takes courage to admit to those things. Because what if you struggle to achieve them; will everyone see you as a failure?

Of course not. Because life isn’t about the destination, it’s about the journey we go on in order to get there. If anything, that should only inspire you to work hard and enjoy it every step of the way.

If you don’t have a vision or a dream, how can you possibly understand how to become the best version of you? Or how to live the life that you really want?

Because the things we do now are the stepping stones that carry us to where we want to be. Somebody who is focused, determined and courageous is far more likely to succeed in life, than somebody who’s not.

Just remember that dreams are there to be chased, fulfilled and even exceeded. And, if they don’t scare you, then they’re certainly not big enough.

January Favourites

So, the first chapter of 2016 is drawing to a close. I’ve been fairly busy these past few weeks, what with the start of a New Year! But, I’ve also discovered a lot of new products, that I want to share with you for this month’s favourites.

1.  Jack Wills Hope Cove Body Spray

This body spray was bought out by Jack Wills as part of their Christmas Collection. As soon as I saw them, I knew I had to try them. And it is the perfect scent for a body spray, as it’s very pretty and girly in its smell. It also lasts throughout the day and is the perfect addition to my cosmetic bag.

2.  Clinique Pop Lip Colour and Primer

I’ve been loving wearing a nude lip this month and I’ve found that Clinique’s lipstick has definitely been the one I’ve turned to in order to do that. It’s colour is so lovely and subtle, which makes it the perfect complement for a natural make-up look. It also has a really good application, as it feels soft and is definitely long lasting.

3.  Fig and Orange Oil Hand Cream

I’ve been using this hand cream, from Marks & Spencer,¬†throughout January, as it smells so good. It has a light, fruity smell to it and is perfect for all year round. It really softens the skin and makes it perfect to either pop on your bedside table, or put into your handbag when travelling.

4.  Miss Sporty Concealer

This month, I decided to experiment more with the coverage I use as part of my make up routine. I therefore decided to try out Miss Sporty’s Concealer. I have very fair skin, so sometimes its difficult to find concealer and foundation that complements my complexion. However, I’ve found that this one, in the lightest shade, gives me really good coverage. It’s also very affordable and applies really well.

Fears

We all have fears in life that haunt us nearly every day. But I’m not talking about¬†‘the fear of spiders’¬†or¬†‘the fear of heights’.¬†I’m talking about fears much more closer to home, and even closer to our hearts.

I’m talking about fears that we don’t normally allow others to see. Because, if they know what we’re afraid of, they’ll know exactly how vulnerable we are. And, if they wanted to, they’d know exactly how to hurt us, right where it hurts us the most.

And my fear? Well, I have the fear of never being good enough. Of knowing that there will always be somebody out there that will be better than me. And that kind of scares me. Because what if my best is never good enough? And what if my best can never take me to the kind of success that I want?

But, writing this post has made me realise that I can use that fear in one of two ways. I could let it demotivate me into never trying my best, and fearing failure.¬†Or, and more realistically, I could let it spur me on to always trying my hardest and fighting for what I want. And I think it’s pretty obvious which one I’m going to choose.

Because fears are only figures of your imagination and, in reality, they don’t actually exist. So, take control over your own fears and¬†never¬†let them stand in your way of success.

My 2016

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful 2015 and I wish you the very best for this year. I thought I would share with you the little things I want to change throughout 2016 in order to become the best possible version of me.

Caring less about what other people think

In order to be happy, you need to be 100% comfortable and confident with who you really are. So I want to be able to do that, without needing reassurance from others. I don’t want to let other people’s perspectives change my own thoughts and ideas, or affect what it is I want to achieve. So I want to worry less about what my happiness may look like to other people and live the life that I want to lead.

Have more ‘me’ time

This year, I want to put more time aside for taking care of myself and having a little time to relax. Whether this means cosying up with a good book, having a little pamper session or meeting up with my friends. This also means taking care of myself a little more and allowing me time to relax and chill out.

Focusing more on what makes me happy

What I really want out of 2016 is to be happy, both with the choices I make and the things I do. And in order to do that, I need to focus on the things that make me truly happy. For me, that’s mainly dance, my blog and my family and friends. So that’s what I want to concentrate my time, energy and focus on within 2016.
